Stephanie, the Biltmore house has been featured in many a movie. It is truly a magnificent place.

VE, only a portion of the movie was filmed here. If I remember correctly they were the running scenes.

Reforming Geek, the Biltmore house is one of the biggest attraction here. The movie Richie Rich was filmed in the Biltmore house.

Kathcom, North Carolina is a beautiful state I will give you that. I am from the south and moving here was a huge culture shock for me. I was surprised at the ignorance here and I do not mean that in a bad way. Kudzu is rampant especially along the highways. It swallows everything in it's path.

I've got to say that your photos don't make a very good argument against moving to NC. It looks beautiful. Andy Griffith is just the icing on the cake.

Do you have a kudzu problem? I know it's spreading north. That might make me feel better about not living there.

FishHawk, I am very proud to say that I DID take that photo. We were coming home one evening and I made my husband stop on the four lane road so I could snap that. It is one of my best. Glad you liked it.

P.S.: A good movie to see the spectacular natural beauty of North Carolina is The Last of the Mohicans, starring Daniel Day Lewis and Madeleine Stow, which was released in 1995. For despite the setting of the movie being upstate New York, it was mostly (if not entirely) filmed in North Carolina.
