Today I would like to share one of my favorite places. Carlsbad Caverns, in Carlsbad New Mexico. I have been twice and would go again in a heartbeat. It is truly a magnificent place to visit and a way to lose yourself for about 4 hours. I will take you from the beginning of the tour right through to the last awe-inspiring show of the evening. I hope you will not be bored and will see the beauty of mother nature. This trip will take several Sunday's to finish and I hope you will come along on each leg of the trip.
There is a cave here somewhere.
Beautiful, majestic El Capitan
Small part of White Sands
At the top of the trail into the cave
Amphitheater for the show following the tour
Let's get started
Are we there yet?
Still got a way to go
I hope you are not tired.
Still not there yet.
Just inside.
The soot is from the Native American's fires when they used the cave for shelter.

Wow, this is the 2nd place where I am first to comment this morning! I guess everyone else is still sleeping. Lucky them!
Anyhow, I just love these pics. I have never been there. It looks like an awful lot of walking so I really enjoy the trip through your pics! Can't wait for the next part of the trip!
I love caves and Carlsbad is awesome. Bring on the bats!
I also recommend Mammoth Cave in Kentucky!

How stunning, and couldn't possibly be boring. So, there *are* some good things in new Mexico. :)
